Here is a small 4×9 inch painting that I just completed.  It’s a resolved work on it’s own but it’s primary purpose is as a study for a larger work.   I was unsure about the foreground from my sketched material so this piece was important in clarifying how to handle the grasses and willows as well as the pond weeds in the bottom third of the painting.  I think I now have a good idea about how to proceed.
